Modern Business Life (or MBL) is a blog that I have begun as an extension of my recently completed book and program entitled, “Hybrid: The Modern Small Business”. (This title will be released in the Summer of 2009… more details to come) There are many topics not included in that book that have occupied my mind, and they would likely be better suited for an open forum such as this blog.
While “Modern Business Life” did seem like a catchy title for the blog (and one that fits well with my previously mentioned book title) if dissected, it is an eerily fitting name given the topics that I intend to discuss here:
- Modern - Given that my areas of expertise in business are “Management of Information System” and “Internet Interaction”, modern is a topic that I intend to cover often. I am quite interested in new technologies, their implications to business, and how businesses can leverage these technologies to their benefit. Additionally, I plan to regularly make posts regarding modern management theories and concepts.
- Business - Clearly, most all topics included on this blog will involve business to some degree. I am a constant student of all things business, and I plan on making it a cornerstone of these discussions.
- Life- Admittedly, I am a sucker for inspirational and motivational strategies. It is therefore, more than likely that many of the posts on this blog will fall into such a category. I believe that in business and life, motivation is a critical element of success. Anything that you can do to get yourself moving forward, in an inspired manner towards achieving your goals, is certainly game on this website.
It is my sincere hope that items discussed on this blog help to inform and motivate anyone who reads it. Learning is an ongoing process in this “knowledge society”, and I plan to learn as much from gathering my thoughts and posting them, as I would expect anyone to gain by reading them. I welcome and look forward to your input, and insights.
