Creating Your Marketing Routine

Developing a marketing routine is difficult, but it’s necessary. The thing with routines are that you need to be consistent, so it helps your team if they can see what steps you take. This way, there will no longer be any ambiguity around whether or not the task was done properly and some accountability for each step in the process of marketer will exist.

Creating Your Marketing Routine

Consider the last time you made a significant shift in the way you manage your company or even your personal life. It’s difficult to change your daily routines. Sometimes we don’t even know where to begin. The same thing happens with our advertising. Perhaps you’ve worked with a strategist like us to help you develop the best marketing strategy for your company, but you’re not sure how to put all of these improvements into action. The website seems to have a lot of continuous material, “tweets,” and updates. It may be daunting unless you can include some aspects into your daily routine. Here’s a step-by-step guide to implementing your marketing strategy.

  • Make time for it. Let’s face it, you wouldn’t ignore an attractive prospect who was interested in spending a significant amount of money with you to go buy toner for your printer. Yet, when it comes to marketing, which is by far our best chance of making a significant profit for the business, it is always last on the priority list. As a result, begin to approach it as if it were a hot possibility.

Action: Make a daily appointment with your marketing department in your work calendar for at least 30 minutes, and then once or twice a week for 1.5 hours.

  • Make a list of your tasks. Outlook’s Tasks function is one of my favorites. It enables me to create a task, schedule it, and prioritize it. It’s even possible for me to share or distribute it to others. After all, you can’t expect to sit down to do your marketing and then have no idea what you’re going to do with it.

Start by writing what you intend to achieve this quarter in a task application (or a spreadsheet). Then break it down into monthly, weekly, and maybe even daily activities.

  • Carry out your duties. This may sound self-evident, but if you’ve ever made a to-do list, you’ve undoubtedly discovered that a number of those “to- do’s” never get completed. There is a single explanation for this. Simply put, you don’t want to do that at this time.

It’s simply not your thing, no matter how hard you try; you don’t want to study it, you can’t find the time, or it goes against your nature. It’s like deciding to include swimming into your new fitness routine when you don’t know how to swim and don’t have the time or desire to learn. In terms of marketing, you have three choices. If a task element is still on your list a month or two after it’s due, follow these steps:

Defer it – If the reason it hasn’t been completed is because you ran out of time or it isn’t as important as you thought, move it to the following quarter.

Delegate it – If you don’t know how or don’t want to learn, delegate it to someone who does. After all, a successful person has learnt to spend money to save time rather than save money to save time!

If it doesn’t fit with who you are and you can’t postpone or assign it, delete it. Remove it from your marketing strategy. Don’t be shocked if you have a change of heart and discover you can’t truly let it go when you try to delete it! This is great news since it means you can either do it yourself, postpone it, or delegate it!

  • First thing in the morning, Facebook and Twitter will publish a daily update, with perhaps another posting later in the day.


  • At least once a week, LinkedIn should be updated.
  • Every Thursday, I’ll send you a handwritten note. To coworkers, former clients, strategic partners, and others, send at least two handwritten letters.
  • Anything relevant to your business, including blogging. Blogging may take the form of text, video, or audio.
  • Make changes to your website’s content.


  • At least once a month, send out a business newsletter through email. Choose a date, such as the 15th.
  • Create a monthly marketing campaign.


  • Setting a goal to conduct a speaking event once a quarter is a good way to start.


  • Client Appreciation Event – Choose a month that fits your schedule and organize a client appreciation event with a few key partners.

It’s important to remember that the ideal method to eat an elephant is to take one mouthful at a time. Create your own marketing regimen and schedule appointments and activities to keep yourself on track!
