The Wal-Mart Better Living Company Plan Competition is a chance to pitch ideas for a successful business or product that also has a good environmental effect. This year, 32 schools will compete in school-wide events, with winners competing in one of eight regional competitions held on campus. Regional winners will go to Arkansas to present their ideas to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. management, with the chance to earn $5,000, $10,000, or $20,000! In November 2008, the 32 participating schools will be chosen, and the final competition will take place in the spring of 2009. All sorts of institutions and programs are invited to apply since we are searching for a diverse range of viewpoints. Schools that can field more than one team to participate at the school level and either host or offer assistance for students to attend regional events will be given priority.
